Statement Honey Bee Necklace (new recycled acrylic)

This statement honey bee necklace features a honeycomb inspired base and three bees assembled on top made to look like the bees are just about to land. The honey comb features a golden recycled acrylic made from two offcuts and the circular pieces on the bees are also made from recycled acrylic too. The rest of the design features plain Perspex, pearl marble acrylic, transparent acrylic, as well as frosted and mirror acrylic. Pieces that use recycled acrylic may be more limited in numbers than my usual range.

The design is joined together with anti tarnish ion plated gold stainless steel jump rings and hangs from a chain of the same metal. It measures approximately 140(h)mm x 145mm(w) while the chain measures 29cm and also has a 8.5cm extender chain. You may request a longer chain if you leave me a note at the checkout or email me but I will say this one looks best sat fairly high up. There will be variation in the recycled acrylic and also a little in the hand mixed acrylic but generally this one is quite consistent. All work is solely done by Rock The Panda designer and maker Ruth Anna Moore in Sheffield, United Kingdom.
The necklace has the Rock The Panda logo and year made engraved on the back and comes in it's own box. All Rock The Panda designs will be limited. They won't ever be mass produced.

About the recycled acrylic - 

I've kept all my acrylic offcuts since I started Rock The Panda back in 2018 as I knew that one day there would be a way to use them. That day has come! I'm now able to recycle acrylic into new sheets with heat, pressure, time and care. It's very exciting and means that my little business has become a lot more environmentally friendly.

Each new small sheet takes a long time to make; I can only really make 1 (about a 18cm square surface) sheet a day and they require a lot of attention to ensure that the result is properly fused together. It is a process I experimented with for a few weeks prior to getting a usable sheet!

Although a machine is involved in the making of the recycled acrylic and the new type is very similar looking to regular non recycled acrylic please bear in mind that there may be tiny surface marks, little dimples, varying thicknesses and occasionally raised areas around thin sections of the design (this doesn't happen often though).

Important Info -
Due to my works handmade nature and the fact that some of the acrylic sheet is handmade itself, there will be slight differences in each piece and may be minor imperfections.
Stainless steel is very resilient to tarnish but it may darken slightly over time.

Acrylic can be quite delicate. Handle with care, clean with a soft microfibre cloth and keep your brooch/necklace in the box provided when not being worn. Each piece is water resistant but not waterproof. Please don't immerse in water. Some acrylic, particularly pearl marble acrylic can deteriorate with time (years usually). The surface becomes sort of pitted. This can't be avoided unfortunately.

Shipping -
Orders are shipped in either boxes or in thick padded jiffy green envelopes both of which are recyclable. Tissue paper is used as padding and also biodegradable bubble wrap to protect pieces such as necklaces. Please re use or recycle the packaging responsibly.

Shipping outside of the UK is tracked. UK orders are posted with Tracked24hr, Tracked48hr or special delivery (you decide at the checkout). Orders to Australia can take 2-8 weeks to arrive. Due to Brexit orders to Europe can now take anywhere between 2-3 weeks to arrive.
