Rock The Panda is a handmade, laser cut acrylic and wooden jewellery brand run solely by Ruth Anna Moore in Sheffield, United Kingdom since 2018. Ruth combines her long standing creative flair with her broad range of interests such as animals, plants, music, fairy tales, fantasy and colour to design and make eclectic, quirky pieces to be treasured for years to come. Thought of as little pieces of colourful, wearable art her aim is to bring a little bit of happiness to the world and brighten up those drab days. After all, life’s too short for boring jewellery!

About Ruth 
From being young Ruth has always had a passion for art and design and crafts. Her second love being animals and nature which have featured in much of her work.
She studied art and design at college where she favoured 3D crafts realising that despite working with many mediums throughout art and enjoying them all, she had a flair for making things.
She then went on to study Metalwork and Jewellery at University where she learnt metalworking techniques and her work was greatly inspired by plants. Though she enjoyed making one off silver pieces of jewellery she was always drawn back to mixed media work and colour, trying to combine them with silver. Knowing that there were many design limits to using silver in jewellery and wanting to draw inspiration from her love of animals, she discovered acrylic and resins therefore Rock The Panda was created in 2018!

In 2021 Ruth upgraded to a far better laser cutter and also improved the method in which she creates vector files which meant her designs and quality has improved therefore designs from pre September 2021 have been retired. That year was a big turning point and she put a lot of extra work in to achieve it. It also opened up more materials which is evident in her most latest work. Additionally in 2022 she bought an heat press and started exploring making acrylic sheets from recycling acrylic offcuts. Throughout a year she experimented with the technique and is now creating sheets that are suitable to use within designs that are as detailed as pieces made from virgin (non recycled) acrylic sheets.
